Springville senior Mason Goodridge recently became the school’s all-time leading boys basketball scorer, passing the record of 1,223 points set by Marty Sykes. He has 74 points in his last two games, scoring 41 against Lackawanna and 33 against JFK, both victories for the Griffins (7-8, 6-3).

The Springville-Griffith Institute varsity boys basketball team won its second consecutive game Monday night, defeating visiting JFK 69-56.

Senior Mason Goodridge, in his first game since scoring 41 points to become the school’s all-time leading scorer, added to his record with 33 more points and also led the team with four steals. Austin Boies added 17 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals. Adam Pruitt had 10 points, six rebounds and two steals for the Griffins (7-8), who have won five of their last six games and improved to 6-3 in ECIC Div. IV play, third in the league.

For JFK (5-8), Mitchell Fischer had 21 points and Alan Suarez scored 20.

The Griffins continue league play on Tuesday, Feb. 5, as they play host to Eden, and then Holland the following day.
