Make a splash this weekend at the Holiday Valley pool complex! It’s your last chance of the season, as the pools are only open only through Labor Day.
The pool complex includes three pools—a lap pool, a kiddie pool and an activity pool featuring a slide and diving board. In addition, many deck games are set up for guests’ entertainment, including giant Jenga, Cornhole, table tennis and a putting green. The Cabana bar serves up refreshing cocktails and mocktails to enjoy poolside and really make you feel like you’re on vacation!
Holiday Valley’s marketing director Jane Eshbaugh said that the last Ducky Derby will take place on Monday, Sept. 3 at 3 p.m. (In case you aren’t familiar with this, you “buy” a duck. Guests then sit on the edge of the activity pool and splash, all the ducks are released at the top of the slide, then “race” down the slide and across the pool. The owner of the winning duck receives a prize.)
In addition, if anyone is looking for a “last hurrah” of the summer, they can schedule a pool party during the normal operating hours of 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. There’s a minimum of 10 people and the cost is $5 per child age 12 and under, $8 per adult. To reserve a pool party, call 699-3909.
Eshbaugh added that, “The pool food and beverage service will be providing yummy snacks like John Harvard’s award winning mahi-mahi fish tacos and refreshing drinks all weekend. You’ll feel like you’re on a cruise as the servers deliver your treat right to your lounge chair!”
The last weekend of the pools being open is bittersweet. “We are sad to see the last days for the pools over Labor Day weekend, but excited because that means ski season is not far away!” said Eshbaugh.
