Two Learn to Knit classes are being held at the Springville Center for the Arts beginning March 7.

Learn the basic steps to knitting in upcoming workshops at Springville Center for the Arts. Instructor Nancy Palmer Miess is offering two sessions on Saturday, March 7 from 10 a.m. to noon, and Saturday, April 4 from 10 a.m. to noon.
The first class, Learn to Knit I, is ideal for students with limited to no experience. Miess will cover casting on, knit and purl. Students should bring their own needles — preferably wooden or bamboo, size 8 — and yarn — worsted weight in a medium to light color.
The second session, Learn to Knit II, is for those same students, or for anyone with the basics already understood. Miess will review casting on, knit and purl, as well as teach casting off and pattern reading.
Interested students should register online at springvillearts.org or by calling (716) 592-9038 to register by phone.
Each session is $20 for public, $18 for SCA members, and space is limited. Springville Center for the Arts is located at 37 N. Buffalo St., Springville.
