Ski/Snowboard Swap to Benefit Ski Patrol

By Alicia Dziak

As the days continue to get colder and shorter, we know winter is coming up fast and it’s time to think about all your snowy day acitivities. Enjoy the calm before the holiday storm, and take some time to enjoy post-Halloween, pre-Thanksgiving by getting yourself prepared for the white stuff at Kissing Bridge’s Fall Fest, Nov. 11-13.

Inventory that stash of winter coats, boots and, of course, ski and snowboard gear. If your to-do list includes sizing up or upgrading, look no further than the annual Ski and Snowboard Swap, where you can find tons of new and used equipment to outfit yourself and your favorite kids.

Stop in and pay only $1 to register new or used gear at KB’s Central area. “People can start bringing equipment in at noon on Friday and they will take it down to the cafeteria,” said Carlee John of Kissing Bridge.

KB will do the selling for you, and their Ski Patrol receives 10 percent of the sale.

In addition to the ski/snowboard swap, KB’s Fall Fest will feature vendors selling everything from health and beauty to home goods to winter apparel and more. Get a jump on your holiday shopping and support local businesses.

“We will have more vendors than usual and at Willie’s Smokehouse, have interactive children activities,” John said. “The restaurant is open with food and beverages and a fish fry on Friday.”

There will also be raffles and prizes at this free event, as well as the superfun Big Air Bag.

“The Big Air Bag will be set up with scaffolding and is free to jump into; a release just has to be signed,” noted John. “We also have a Mucho Jib Jam rail competition, taking place on the base of Holly, that is being put on by Phatman Board Shop.”  That is also free to enter, and a release and helmet is required.

Want even more ways to save on the upcoming season? Bring in eight non-perishable food items and receive 20 percent off season packages.

“The discount is valid for seasons passes, 10 packs, econo card, trans pack, childrens programs such as our KB Cruisers, BridgeBusters, Extreme Team, GateBusters,” explained John. Rentals are not included.

Fall Fest takes place at Kissing Bridge Central area on Friday, Nov. 11, noon to 9 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 12, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 13, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Equipment will be in the cafeteria, with boots in the back club rooms, clothing downstairs, ski packages to be purchased at the Ticket Center and vendors located throughout the area.
