Girl’s Track, Coach Mark Heichberger

The Springville Girl’s Track and Field team has had some outstanding performances this season.  Corrin Sacilowski has continued to impress everyone in the 1,500 meter racewalk.  Corrin broke her own school record in this event when she finished in 7:33.9 while at an invitational at Hamburg High School.  This was a 14 second improvement from last year.  Hannah Goetz has been outstanding in her rookie season as she broke the 2,000 meter steeplechase record.  The old record was set in 2001 by Desiree Zielen-Ersing with a time of 7:58.2.  Hannah finished with a time of 7:53.0 while competing at the Pioneer Invitational on 5/20.  Hannah will have two more chances this season to improve upon her record time while running at the ECIC championship meet and at the Section 6 championship meet.

Payton Rowe had a strong performance at the Pioneer Invitational.  Payton finished in 2nd place in the 400 meter hurdles and in 6th place in the 100 meter hurdles.  Payton will also be running both races at the ECIC and Section 6 championship meet.  Rowe, Goetz, Chloe Chamberlin, MacKenzie Engle, Lizzy Miranda, Evelyn Smith, Corrin Sacilowski, Sonya Krezmien, Abby Steiner, and Allison Lavanture will be traveling to Hamburg for the ECIC meet on 5/26 and 5/27.
