Varsity Girls Basketball, coach Bob Gainey

The Varsity girls basketball team dropped a hard fought game on Saturday afternoon by a score of 34-33 to Mt. Mercy Academy.  The team played great for 24 minutes, but had a lull during the third quarter, which led to the difficult loss.  Despite the outcome, the team represented themselves well with great effort and intensity throughout the game.  Leading scorers on the day for the Griffs were Ivette Lewandowski (12 points,) Carrie Dickinson (nine points) and Ryan Stedman poured in six points.  The girls hosted the first ever “Salute to Service” game, which honored the local Veterans within our Springville community.
