Nick Pantuso ran for 155 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries to power Olean (3-3) over Springville on Oct. 11 in high school football action, 34-7, in Springville.

Codie Tidd added a pair of touchdowns — one each rushing and receiving — to help the Huskies build a 27-0 halftime lead.

Nick Fratercangelo led the OHS defense with nine tackles.

Alex Elkins had 72 yards rushing, 79 passing and scored a touchdown on the ground in the third quarter for Springville after Olean had built a 34-0 lead. Eric Pruitt led SGI in receiving with 76 yards on six catches, and also marked a team-high 4.5 tackles.

“It was a good bounce-back win for us (after last week’s 49-26 loss to Albion),” OHS coach Phil Vecchio said. “We jumped on them pretty early; we scored on the first three possessions. They fumbled on their first offensive snap, and we were able to get on it. Nick made a couple of good runs to get us in the end zone. I thought our line stepped up today.

“Defensively, we got kind of bent, but we didn’t break. They scored real late on us. This is a win we needed to get to where we’re going.”
