Joylan Theatre to celebrate re-launch with open house Oct. 16

New seating, interior painting, an expanded lobby area and enhanced lighting and audio are

just a few of the improvements made to the historic theatre in downtown Springville over the past two months.

The Joylan Theatre is now ready to open its doors to the public with two upcoming opportunities.

The Springville Crossing Church will host an open house on Wednesday, Oct. 16 to celebrate opening the newly renovated theater on Main Street.

The day’s events begin at 4:30 p.m. when the lobby and adjacent rooms utilized for several activities, including spaces for children during the Springville Crossing Sunday church service, will be open for a preview with some activities and treats!

Then at 5 p.m., a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held and theater doors open, with refreshments and memorabilia celebrating the 70th anniversary of The Joylan Theatre. Adjacent rooms will still be open.

At 6 p.m., everyone is invited into the theater for a free viewing of “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” on the big screen. Closing words and a final look around this historic space will commence at 6:30.

The following day, Oct. 17, movies will resume with the first showing at 7 p.m.

Springville Crossing Church will officially re-launch as a location of Watermark Wesleyan Church Sunday, Oct. 20 at 10:30 a.m.

Watermark Wesleyan at Springville Crossing will continue to be pastored by Keith Clark, pastor of Springville Crossing Church for the last 10 years.

“The enhancements made to the Joylan and attached children’s spaces will improve the overall

Sunday experience for the family and our entire community,” said Pastor Clark. “We’ve been

working together with Watermark Wesleyan Church for many months now and are excited to

officially be a member of the Watermark Wesleyan family. We’re confident our community

will love the refurbishment of the Joylan and we’re looking forward to this continuing to be a

vital part of the Springville Community for many years to come.”
