Eden pulls ahead late against SGI; Griffins top Holland, Lackawanna

Jordan Lauer hit a two-run double in the bottom of the sixth to give Eden the lead in a close game Monday and top Springville 6-3 in high school softball at Eden.
Eden’s Mattie Woodard allowed six hits and three runs over five and ⅓ innings, striking out ten and walking one.
SGI pitcher Kaitlyn Wolf lasted six innings, allowing seven hits and six runs while striking out three and walking none.
Wolf and Ella Wittman both collected multiple hits for the Griffins, who had six total team hits.
Brooke Woodard and Katie Zimmerman each had multiple hits for Eden.
Ella Wittman was also presented a character award present by the Eden softball team.

Springville 14, Holland 4
Springville rode an early lead to victory at Holland on Thursday, May 2 with a seven-run second inning, as it scored on a single by Bella Oakley, a groundout by Ella Wittman, a single by Marin Lehr and a triple by Meadow Wittman.
On the rubber, Kaitlyn Wolf allowed eight hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out nine and walking none.
SGI collected 13 total as Wittman, Wolf, Wittman and Lehr all managed multiple hits.

Springville 13, Lackawanna 2
Four runs batted in from Marin Lehr helped lead Springville past Lackawanna on Wednesday, May 1, at home. Lehr drove in runs on a double in the fifth and a single in the sixth.
SGI scored on a walk by Kaitlyn Wolf in the first inning, a fielder’s choice by Meghan Rehrauer in the first inning, an error in the second inning, a groundout by Wolf in the second inning and a single by Rehrauer in the second inning.
Wolf surrendered just two runs on two hits over seven innings, striking out ten and walking none.
Lehr led the Griffins three hits in five at-bats.
