The Cordelian Club would like to invite everyone 21 and older to the annual dance to benefit Bertrand Chaffee Hospital this Saturday, March 2.

For only $35 per person, attendees can dance, eat and mingle with friends and neighbors from 7 p.m. until 11.
“Things have gone pretty smoothly,” said Kelly Sanders, vice president of the Cordelian Club and dance coordinator. “They’ve been doing this since the 1930s, so it’s around 80 years they’ve had the dance.”

The Springville Fire Hall will be decorated beautifully, fully embracing this year’s Black & White theme. Black and white attire is requested.

“In the past years, we’ve had themes like ‘80s or the Shamrock Dance last year,” Sanders explained. “So we thought let’s get away from the theme and keep it simple but elegant.

Food and beverages from local establishments — including Cheap Chollies, Carl Emerling, Certo Brothers Distributing Co and Apple Dumplin — will also be available for attendees.

Music will be provided by DJ Bud Hesse and is sure to keep you coming back to the dance floor all night long. “We’ve had him in the past and he does an amazing job,” Sanders said.

As part of the annual fundraiser, there will be fantastic basket raffles and other awesome auction items to win. A couple of the prizes include a big screen TV and a front door alarm system, Sanders said.

Some preparations for the dance begin at the club’s final meeting of their year in May, Sanders said, before picking up again and going full force in October. She said there are 28 members in the club currently and everyone is involved in some way.
If you have never been to the dance before, you don’t want to miss this one.

“It is in support of our local hospital, and people do really want to keep health care local to support our local doctors and staff at the hospital,” Sanders said. “My whole goal isn’t only to support the hospital, but I want people to come out and have a good time.”

The Cordelian members take great pride in planning and executing this fun event and encourage all those on our community to take part.

“It’s a good time, it’s fun, it’s four hours of relaxing and meeting up with people you haven’t seen in a while,” Sanders added. “Come have fun and let loose a little bit.”

Doors open for the annual Cordelian Club Dance at 7 p.m. March 2 and the Springville Fire Hall. Tickets are $35 each and can be purchased early at Anything Printed, BCH Gift Shop or from any Cordelian member or at the door.

Any woman interested in the Cordelian Club can contact any member for more information.
