SGI’s Rowe sets two school records at team indoor championships

Springville’s Payton Rowe set two new school indoor track records and took second overall in the 55-meter hurdles Saturday in the team championships at Houghton College.

Rowe finished the 55 hurdles in 8.93 seconds. She also took fifth overall in the 600-meter dash at 1:42.47.

Also for the SGI girls, Evelyn Smith ran a :44.85 for a personal record in the 300.

For the Springville boys team, Andrew Delasandro ran a personal record 9.43 for fourth among small schools in the 55 hurdles.

Jared Hecht, meanwhile, had a personal record and sectional qualifying time in the 1,600 at 4:49.18.

Masin Field recorded a 38-feet-10-inch triple jump for a personal record, and also ran the 55-meter dash in 7.26 seconds.

Casey Waterman’s 3:20.35 set a personal record in the 1,000.


Brett Russell ran the 3,200 in 10:46.76, while Topher Elkins timed a :36.95 in the 300.
