Green Springville kicks off 2019 speaker series

Green Springville will be kicking off its second year of speakers this month with a talk on Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEV) by Michael Scinta, a local ZEV driver and founder of WNY Drive Electric Facebook group.

The talk is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Feb. 12 at 29 Mechanic St. in Springville.

As an advocate for electric vehicles, Scinta has been driving all electric for six years and has racked up over 83,000 miles. His talk will cover the ins and outs of owning an electric vehicle and everything you’d need to know to travel freely in a ZEV.

If you’ve ever considered an electric or hybrid vehicle, or if you’ve ever had questions about ZEVs, this is a great opportunity to get your questions answered.
Each year, Green Springville brings speakers to talk about a variety of sustainability topics.

“I love the Green Speaker Series because it introduces people to a variety of sustainability topics,” said Reed Braman, Green Springville President. “It’s free, open to everyone and provides a forum for people who might have questions.”
Last year, the Green Speaker Series featured everyday green living, geothermal heating and cooling, the concept of a community tool share and owning solar panels.

This year, the series will feature ZEVs, hemp production and its many uses and backyard beekeeping.
The electric vehicle talk will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the UNOVA Coworking space at 29 Mechanic St. in Springville.

Future talks will also be held on the second Tuesday of the month at the same time and place. A question and answer period will follow all speakers.
