Under new ownership, Springville Health & Fitness continues to offer health conscious people the same high-quality fitness programs led by knowledgeable instructors.
Manager Ashley Hulse said nothing has changed and the facility stayed open the entire time during the change of hands when new owner Tyler Siddle officially took over Nov. 2.
“We are super excited about the center and are happy to keep it going for the community,” she said.
Hulse said when they first started talking about the sale with the previous owners, Mike and Mary Hannon, they were shooting for the end of November because of all the paperwork that had to be done.
“After signing some papers, Tyler took ownership and we kept the same employees and everything has stayed the same,” she said. “Not having to close down during the sale was definitely a plus for our members. I can’t say enough good things about the whole thing. It’s been very smooth sailing and it was a great transition for everybody.”
According to Hulse, nothing has changed, as far as the fitness programs go, but one significant change will be the “24/7 ACCESS” feature that is coming soon.
When the facility is open 24 hours, seven days a week, it will give members more freedom to choose the hours they work out and will fit anybody’s schedule.
“We are hoping to have the 24/7 Access fully installed, up and running by early January,” she said. “We plan to have a one week trial period, in case there are any hiccups.”
Hulse said the 24/7 Access feature will be a card with a barcode on the back of it, much like the one from TOPS Markets that people carry on their keychain. Right now when members come in, they have to come up to the front desk and scan their key card and it signs them in.
“Once we go to the 24/7 Access, there will be a scanner at the front door and when a member scans their key card, the door will open,” she said.
Springville Health & Fitness is a full service, state-of-the-art gym and training facility offering both individualized and personal training, as well as group training.
The fitness center offers a variety of fitness programs, personal training, sports and specialty classes including Zumba, Zumba Gold, yoga, meditation, strength training, senior classes and Silver Sneakers for senior citizens, Rig and cycling.
The center has a relatively large studio classroom where most of the classes are held including Zumba and cycling, as well as some classes that are geared more for senior citizens.
Hulse said 25 to 30 people usually come in Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday for those classes, which a member posted on Facebook are “energetic, challenging and fun.”
The motto of the staff at Springville Health & Fitness is, “Helping You Achieve Your Goal Is Our Goal.”
For those wanting a high-intensity workout, the fitness center has a Rig that is designed with the purpose of improving all areas of fitness such as cardiovascular, strength, flexibility, coordination and agility.
“Our instructor, Angela, sets up different stations at the Rig, which is a big apparatus where you can set up multiple exercise stations,” she said. “There are different, interchangeable attachments that can put on the Rig. Whether you are squatting or using a TRX Band, there are a bunch of different stations that you can rotate through during the class and you are timed at each one.”
Hulse said they employ four to six instructors at any given time and they are all knowledgeable about what programs they are instructing. She said the center currently has two personal trainers who will collaborate with the patron depending on what their interests are.
“I can’t say enough good things about the instructors here. They’re great and they all love what they do here, which is definitely a huge part of it,” she said. “Just like everyone else, they want this place to be successful.”
Located at 243 West Main St., Springville Health & Fitness is currently open Monday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday, 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
