All of the excitement of thoroughbred horse racing comes to Springville on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018 from 6-10 p.m. as Springville Youth, Inc. and the Club of Springville host the 7th Annual “A Night at the Derby.” This event is an audience-participation fundraiser that will feature 12 action-packed races featuring actual high quality, video-taped races of real thoroughbreds projected on a two large screens. Grab all your friends and come on down to this highly anticipated event full of fun while benefiting Springville Youth Incorporated and the Club of Springville.
Our special guest race announcer will call each race so you can pick your favorite horse and cheer him on to victory. Better yet, you can join the racing elite and buy your own race horse! The winning horse owner from each race will have his horse entered in the 12th and final race for a chance to win a fabulous grand prize.
Tickets for the event are only $20 and can be purchased by calling (716) 592-2796 or at the door on the night of the event. Your ticketed admission gets you entry into the “track,” complimentary beer, wine, and beverages along with light snacks at no additional charge. The evening will also feature a raffle and the chance to purchase a limited number of $5 cupcakes for a chance to win a prize graciously provided by Sheret Jewelers. We are limiting the cupcake sale to the first 50 purchasers only on that evening so you have great odds to win.
Horses are $30 each, include 1 ticket to the event and we require no food and no cleaning up after. Your name and your horse’s name will appear in the official race program. Horses are selling fast so get in on the fun by calling Janine at (716) 592-2796.
Proceeds from this event are going to be used for upgrading the pool equipment at the Community Park facility on Buffalo Street and to expand programing at the Club of Springville. This event is proudly sponsored by The Ozone Rangers Band, Metro Kirsch Real Estate, The Choirboys at Lawrence’s Tavern, Colt & Farmhouse Development, LuLu Belles, Julie’s Pizzeria, The Laundromat of Springville, Gurney Becker and Bourne Real Estate and Insurance, Main Street Pizzeria and Café, Emerling Ford and Emerling Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.
