The Springville Area Chamber of Commerce elected Joseph Pillittere as its new board president at its October meeting. Pillittere, communication manager for CH2M HILL BWXT West Valley, LLC (CHBWV) takes over for William Gugino of B&B Homes, who has stepped back from president duties after nearly five years in that role.
Pillittere works for CH2M HILL BWXT West Valley, LLC (CHBWV), the prime contractor to the U.S. Department of Energy at the West Valley Demonstration Project. Prior to his position with CHBWV, Pillittere was the Commissioner of Public Works for Cattaraugus County, and held senior management positions with Cornell University, Westinghouse, Northeast Utilities and the New York Power Authority.
“I’m honored to become the next president of an organization that prides itself on encouraging, developing and uniting the business community in the Springville region,” Pillittere said. “The Chamber has been successful because of Bill Gugino’s leadership and the dedication and commitment by our volunteer board members. I look forward to continuing our work together as we plan a new direction that will benefit our organization and the community.”
Pillittere joins an executive board that includes Vice President Mike Rose of Sheret Jewelers, Secretary Helen Brogan of Concord Land Realty and Treasurer Kellee Keating-Kucewicz of M&T Bank.
The Chamber just concluded its 13th annual Springville Oktoberfest and is looking ahead to Halloween and holiday activities. The Chamber board is currently accepting applications for its part-time executive director positions and volunteers for a seat on its board. Resumes can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
