BCH Completes Paving Project

It was a project that caused some mild disruption for patients, visitors and employees of Bertrand Chaffee Hospital. But three days of hard work resulted in years of community benefit as a remarkable and welcomed transformation of the hospital’s main parking lot in early September.

“Northeast Paving company worked for three days, with a fourth for striping, on this project,” said Facilities Director Mary Beth Brown.  “We want to extend our thanks to their crew for its diligence in completing the work and Gernatt Asphalt for its blacktop product.”

The hospital also thanks the team at AllPro Parking for providing valet service to patients and visitors for the duration of the paving, and to the hospital maintenance team and staff who were outside on some very warm days to direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic. “It was a true team effort,” explained Foundation Coordinator Kara Kane. “We brought in extra valet attendants and a motorized cart to minimize interruptions.”

“We asked around internally, and we think that this might be the most complete paving work done on our campus in the past 40 years,” stated CEO Nils Gunnersen.  “Thanks to community and organizational contributions to the BCH Foundation, we can continue to make strategic investments to improve access to our facilities.“
