It’s still summer, which means the weather is perfect for outdoor activities. Here’s a sampling of unique things to do this weekend:
Erie Bats at Evangola State Park
An evening hike to search for bats where on a September night in Evangola the highest count of migrating bats in the Great Lakes was recorded! Explore our Evangola Nature Center then try the “bat detector” over starlit Lake Erie skies. For information and registration call (716) 549-1050.
Kayak at Knox Farm
Just getting into kayaking? Head to East Aurora’s Knox Farm State Park for a beginner’s class on kayaking on Saturday at 9 a.m. Join ACA certified kayak instructors for a one hour session. A kayak, paddle and life jacket will be provided. For information and registration call (716) 549-1050.
Darien Lake Harvest Fest
Get in some bonus time at the area’s largest amusement park at the annual Harvest Fest, included with park admission. The event brings together the beautiful fall foliage around the park grounds with fall-themed family activities, local craft and food vendors and special accommodations packages.
