If you’re familiar with rSpace, you know that their staff is always thinking outside of the box when it comes to fitness. The Colden-based studio offers a variety of classes and special events to keep patrons active and energized.
On Saturday, Aug. 11, rSpace is hosting their second annual Beer, Beats and Yoga event.
The event is happening at the Space, at 8823 State Rd. in Colden, in the backyard on the grass, at 1 p.m. The cost is $20 or $15 for rTribe members.
“I will be instructing an all levels vinyasa flow class, with adult beverage inspiration,” said rSpace owner Jessica Raymond. “Last year we did fun things like trying to balance our drinks on our head in tree pose and grabbing a sip as we went backwards into reverse warrior. Participants can expect a yoga class like any other and lots and lots and LOTS of laughter!”
Raymond said last year’s event was memorable to say the least.
“Last year one of the coolest things that I remember taking away from the event, was how many couples were there on ‘Date Night!’” she said. “So many men came out and gave it their all! It was really cool to see the couples laugh and have so much fun with something they maybe have never done together.”
She added there were also some ladies with their tribe having a Girl’s Day.
“Overall, the event is really open to anyone 21 or over who wants to just have some fun, laugh and, of course, get a great yoga session in!” Raymond explained. She emphasized that no prior yoga experience is needed and that this class will be accessible to everyone.
To add the “beats” portion to the event, Abby Morejon, a.k.a. DJ Ab. Styles, will be back to DJ the event. (She was also at rSpace’s Women’s Day for those who participated in Power Yoga on the deck.) “It’s always an amazing experience to lead a class to her soundtrack – I’m already super excited for that!” Raymond noted.
Raymond said that the set up for the day will be similar to last year’s.
“Check in inside — get your bracelet and head out back to grab your spot,” she said. “Like last year, DJ Ab. Styles will be set up jamming some pre yoga tunes. This year we plan to have a couple more local vendors set up and have some exciting new things in the works!”
Stay tuned to rSpace’s Facebook page for more info as it becomes available. In the meantime, mark your calendars and gather your tribe for an afternoon of yoga, music and laughs!
