The Springville-Griffith Community Education Foundation (SGCEF) has been nominated for a Commitment to Service Award in the upcoming VolunteerWNY Why Not You Awards which will be held on Wednesday, April 25 at 5:30 p.m. at the The Barrel Factory, 65 Vandalia St, Buffalo.
This award recognizes an organization, civic group, or student group who demonstrates excellence in volunteerism, community service, national service, or social responsibility. Winners will be announced at the Award Banquet. Tickets are $10. For more info, visit www.volunteerwny.org
SGCEF is dedicated to providing funding for educational programs, facilities and activities that enhance and expand opportunities for students and the communities served by the school district. With over a decade of community support, the SGCEF, through their grant programs, has supported local organizations including the Boys & Girls Club, Springville Rails to Trails, Concord Historical Society Heritage Building, The Children’s League, Mercy Flight of WNY, Bertrand Chaffee Hospital and many others.
In addition to the major grant award recipients, the foundation also awards several mini-grants to individuals and organizations in the Springville community for projects that fulfill that mission.
Applications are now available for individuals and organizations interested in applying for a SGEF mini-grant in the amount of $250- $1,499.
