Even though it may not feel like it, spring is almost upon us and Green Springville has plenty of activities planned for April.
Following up on the success of previous speakers, Green Springville will welcome Jason Kulaszewski from the University at Buffalo Regional Institute and Gabriel Recchio from PUSH Buffalo. These speakers will highlight the current state-of-the-art solar panel technologies, discuss the upcoming regional effort to reduce costs through group purchasing, and answer questions on solar panel systems.
April 22 is Earth Day and Green Springville is coordinating a two-hour, family-friendly celebration. Starting a 2 p.m. at the Springville Center for the Arts, a variety of activities are planned including natural face painting, planting stations, a chalk mural, and earth-friendly games. Everyone is invited to enjoy light refreshments while listening to the live music and hanging out. Green Springville volunteers will be on hand to discuss some of the activities planned for the rest of the year.
Finally, the Erie County Water Quality Committee (ECWQC) is hosting its annual compost bin and rain barrel sale and Green Springville is here to help. Every year the ECWQC offers a discounted price on compost bins and rain barrels for pickup and Green Springville is arranging for a local pickup option.
