Bounce into spring with the lively April Verch, coming to Springville Center for the Arts on March 3. Verch is a trifecta of talent: she sings, steps and fiddles all at once, with apparent ease and precision. Her live show has been described as a beautiful companion to her music: versatile, robust, and masterfully executed.
Verch is best known for exporting traditional fiddle styles from her native Ottawa Valley, Canada to stages in the US, UK, Germany, Austria, France, China, Australia, United Arab Emirates and beyond. Her performances extend into old-time American and Appalachian styles and beyond, for a well-rounded tour-de-force of North Americana sounds. Verch tours with world-class musicians as a trio, featuring acoustic guitar, mandolin, bass and clawhammer banjo in addition to Verch’s vocals, fiddle and foot percussion. She may be best known for opening the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
SCA welcomes the April Verch Band on Saturday, March 3 for a performance starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12 pre-sale and $15 at the door. Visit SpringvilleArts.org or call (716) 592-9038 for more information or to purchase tickets.
