Randle Patrick McMurphy, played by Rick Manzone, realized that being the only sane person in a psychiatric hospital was not the easy way out after all. McMurphy’s decision of choosing time in a psychiatric hospital over time in prison turned out to be a mistake. He finds it especially difficult to deal with the head nurse, Nurse Ratched, played by Tammy Catalano. Follow McMurphy as he takes over the yard and develops relationships with the other admits in the hospital. This dramatic comedy has humor throughout the show, but there is darkness as well.
The show is directed by Edwin Heary, who previously helmed The Crucible and Of Mice and Men, and co-directed by Pamela Morley. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, by Dale Wasserman, won many awards including the 2001 Tony Award for Outstanding Revival of a Play. Many are familiar with Ken Kesey’s 1962 novel of the same name.
