It’s pumpkin season in Western New York! All around town you can find pumpkins at just about every roadside stand and grocery store, yet there’s something to be said about the pure joy that comes from picking out your very own pumpkin right from the patch.
Whether you prefer a two-pound, 20-pound or even 200- pound pumpkin for your front doorstep, these farms not only provide fields filled with options to choose from, but also fun fall activities for the whole family to enjoy. Get out there and start picking! But save the long, tall oval ones that look like Bert (not Ernie) for me— those are my favorites.
Pumpkinville, located at 4844 Sugartown Road, Great Valley, NY 14741 has partnered again this year with Universal Studios to make 2017 the year Curious George visits the 200-acre farm. In addition to the many pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, there are a few new things at Pumpkinville this year including a Goat-tel, a three-story goat house and apple blasters where you can shoot apples at cool targets!
As always, you can enjoy the free activities including the pumpkin race, singing chicken show, petting zoo, story land, train play area and purchase tickets for other events such as the pumpkin jumpin’ pillows, corn maze, pedal carts, hayrides, cow train, helicopter rides and express train rides.
After picking out your pumpkin and enjoying the activities, choose a delicious pastry from the bakery (pumpkin donuts, cookies, muffins, pies and more!) And enjoy lunch at the Pumpkinville Grille featuring hot dogs, sausage, BBQ pork, chili and curly fries available daily, with chicken BBQ dinners on weekends. There’s no shortage of family fun to be had at Pumpkinville!
