Randle Patrick McMurphy realized that being the only sane person in a psychiatric hospital was not the easy way out after all. Based on Ken Kesey’s 1962 novel of the same name, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest will be performed in the Carol Mongerson Theater at Springville Center for the Arts. Dale Wasserman wrote the stage play, which has won several Tony Awards.
Springville Center for the Arts and the Springville Players will host auditions for their fall performances, directed by Edwin Heary. All experience levels are welcome. Auditions are July 31 and Aug. 1 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Concord Town Hall located at 86 Franklin Street, Springville, right next door to the Arts Center. This show casts four females and about a dozen males. All ages are welcome to audition, however all parts are adults. Actors interested are encouraged to attend both nights of auditions, but it is not mandatory. Material is not required to prepare ahead of time.
