If you’ve watched the news or any of our local channels lately, a familiar voice comes over the air waves advertising the great deals coming out of Springville Door and Window. That familiar voice is that of David Batterson Jr., who for the past four years has been at the helm of this second-generation Springville business.
For 30 years, Springville Door and Window has been the local seller and installer of a variety of products including: windows, doors, awnings, shades, skylights and a variety of sidings and related products. This weekend they open their doors for their annual public open house.
Springville Door and Window started when David Batterson Sr. and his brother-in-law, Jim Webster, partnered up as general contractors in 1986. In 1989, David bought out his brother-in-law’s interest and started Springville Door and Window, first renting a space on 219 that is now Sensational Pools and then later moving across the street to the current home of S and S Taxidermy.
In 1997, Batterson bought the old Village of Springville Department of Public Works building on the corner of Waverly Street and Albro Avenue. The new space was remodeled and opened for business in the fall of 1998. It included a conference room that was designed so that his employees could receive training on installation and new products. The upstairs also features 10 office spaces for rent.
It was the opening of that building that started the tradition of customer appreciation open houses that continue this weekend on Saturday April 29, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The events included special pricing for the products, such as $250 off Sunsetter Awning purchases and price reductions on many quality products, like 30 percent off sunrise windows, 25 percent off Provia storm doors, and 25 percent off Graber blinds and shades. They will be offering refreshments, door prizes and the chance to win a gas grill or patio furniture.
