Modified Lacrosse, submitted by coach Heather Slomba

The modified girls lacrosse team lost on April 25 to Eden 12-13 after a hard fought sudden death double overtime. The team played hard and worked together to hold off Eden until the last minute. The girls were up 8-7 at half. The game ended in a 12-12 tie when the teams went into sudden death overtime. The first sudden death resulted in no goals but hard played offense and defense. With one minute to go in the final sudden death round, Eden scored to end the game. Rachel Stressinger led the Griffins in goals with five, while Melanie Barry added four to the team’s total. Shay Ellis and Brooke Kazmierozak had one goal a piece. Every girl fought hard on defense to help keep the scores close throughout the game. Marie Emerling, Deanna Johnson and Rebecca Kreitzbender were key players in defending the Griffins’ goal. The girls next home game is Monday, May 8 against Amherst at 5 p.m.
