Winter will be here soon, and at Kissing Bridge, that means all things skiing and snowboarding. If you’ve dreamed of spending your snowy days on the slopes, why not share your love of winter sports with others and be an instructor? KB is offering a training course on Nov. 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Central Lodge.
The fee for the course is $60, and payable at registration, which begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Central area. Cost includes all training materials.
Participants must be 16 years of age and older to participate. Everyone is encouraged to bring snacks or lunch, as the KB cafeteria will not be open
The course will include: Industry Teaching Model and Teaching Styles, Learning Styles and Communication, Ski/Snowboard Lesson Plans – Teaching Levels 1-4, Teaching Children, Safety and Risk Management, Resort Operations Overview and Personal Skiing or Riding Assessment
On-Snow training sessions will follow, and are tentatively scheduled for Dec. 10- 11, and 17- 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A certificate of completion will be awarded after attendance of dry-land and on-snow training sessions, which is a pre-requisite to apply for Kissing Bridge instructor positions.
