The Cross Country team competed in Sectionals at Beaver Island State Park on Friday.  Sonya Krezmein won the race with teammate Elle Russell finishing 7 seconds after.  Both earned the opportunity to compete this Saturday in Binghamton at the State meet.  The girls team finished 5th out of 25 teams while missing key athlete Samantha Fruehauf.   Gwen Fruehauf finished 3rd for the team in her fastest 5k yet.  Morgan Lukert, Gabbey Pfeifer and Jamie Dickinson ran fast and proud for the school.  Sonya and Elle have strong rankings overall in the State, and show promise in finishing well in next week’s race.

The girls team wants to thank and will miss seniors Samantha Fruehauf, Gabbey Pfeifer and Caitlin Morazzini.  They have helped the team progress and reach new heights this season.

The guys cross country team finished their season preforming well at Beaver Island.  The race hosted the guys best team effort of the season.  Nick Abdo lead the way for the Griffs, followed by Brett Russell, Kurt Uschold, Zack Peterman and Nathan Myers.  Kurt ran his last race for the team in fine fashion and we thank him for his contributions.  The Guys team would like to thank senior Kurt Uschold, who leaves the team this year.  Kurt leaves behind a healthy group of runners ready to take his spot.  The pack of freshmen ready to take over include Elliot Emely, Luke Waterman and Henry Domst.  As well as a strong group of 7th graders.
