The SGI modified girls soccer team finished up their season on Saturday, Oct. 29 with a 2-1 win over Holland. In a battle of two purple and gold teams, the Griffs struck first with a goal by Jackie Roggie, assisted by Brooke Walker. Holland answered with a goal later in the second half. SGI dominated the second half, and Dru Robinson lobbed the game winner in over the goalie’s head.

All of the girls played an amazing season and ended with a record of 3-5-2. Next year, eighth graders Ava Dziak, Shay Ellis, Caity Hazen, Deanna Johnson, Logan Lukert, Kiley Nolan, Mabel Robinson, Jackie Roggie, Shelby Smith and Shelby Stisser will have the opportunity to move up to JV, while seventh graders Sophia Cureo, Serenity Heim, Arial Link, Lexi Moriarty, Sarah O’Neal, Dru Robinson, Maddie Schwanekamp and Brooke Walker will hopefully return to lead the team. Sixth grade manager Lily Dziak and her classmates will also be a welcome addition to next season’s roster.

Thanks to all the parents and SGI fans who cheered the girls on throughout the season!
