Get out of the house and come join in the fun as Allegany State Park launches a new series of hikes called “Third Saturday Treks.” As the name implies, these free, family-friendly hikes will take place on the third Saturday of each month from March through October. These treks will be led by park staff, members of the Allegany State Park Friends Group, or Historical Society members and each will focus on a different area of the park.
Think you know all there is to know about Allegany State Park? Come test your knowledge on Saturday, Oct. 15. Our final Third Saturday Trek for the season features a nature/trivia hike around Red House Lake. Please meet by the front doors of the Red House Administration Building at 10 a.m. You might just learn something new about the park! This trek will last approximately two hours. Good comfortable hiking shoes, bug spray and drinking water are recommended.
Registration is not required. For more information, visit the Allegany State Park Facebook page or contact Katie Vecellio at (716) 354-9101 ext.236.
