BUFFALO — Sacred Heart was too much for Springville (3-1) in the girls basketball championship game of the Sacred Heart Academy Tournament on Saturday, as SH’s exceptional three-point shooting led it to the title.
Sacred Heart won, 71-34.
Mackenzie Owens and Meg Rehrauer were both selected to the all-tournament team for Springville. The Griffins will be back in action on Thursday night, when they host Lake Shore for a league game.

Springville 51, Depew 34
SPRINGVILLE — Three double-digit scorers helped lead Springville to a victory over Depew in its first league game of the season on Dec. 13.
Despite trailing early in the game, the Griffins roared back to a 16-point halftime lead on sharp shooting from Mackenzie Owens and Ivette Lewandowski. Owens would finish the game with 19 points, while Lewandowski racked up 14 points.
Meg Rehrauer played a key role on both ends of the floor for the Griffiths, as she scored 12 points and played tight defense on Depew’s top offensive player. Also scoring for Springville were Belle Oakley with three points, Jess Engel with two points and one point by Gracie Attebery.
