On Thursday night, the Springville JV Griffins traveled to Olean to face the Huskies.  The Griffs would ultimately drop a 33 – 0 decision as they could not overcome a season high seven turnovers.  The defense once again did their best to limit the damage as they forced three turnovers throughout the game.

Rhett Butzer recovered two fumbles and Ashton Filighera recovered another for the Griffins.  Butzer was once again hustling all over the field on defense as he and Eric Pruitt led the way in tackles.  Brendan Adanti chipped in a sack for the Griffins’ defense.

Offensively, it was another difficult game for Springville as they registered only 131 yards during the game.  Anthony Shultz played his best game on the line this season and Cole Baker made some nice runs when pressed into quarterback duty.

Springville will try to get their offense on track at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday as they will go to Lackawanna to take on the Steelers. Lackawanna defeated Springville 20 – 0 last season.
