The Boston-Colden Chamber of Commerce has named Essentially Well Oiled as its Business of the Year for 2020 after only one year in operation.

Located at 8348 Boston Colden Road in Colden, Essentially Well Oiled sells many products from essential oils to homemade chocolates.

Owner Debra Ehmke expresses that her first year “has been amazing.” She wants to thank all the people who have supported her, saying that “the store has gone way beyond her expectations.”

Winning Business of the Year came as a surprise to Ehmke with there being so many businesses in the area.

“I am very honored that I was chosen,” she said. Since opening her business, “the community has been very supportive. … More and more people are realizing that my store is not just essential oils, it’s much more than that.”

Debra Ehmke has been interested in essential oils for six years now, but owning a store has always been a dream for her Ehmke. She would like to thank her husband Fritz, adding, “He helped make my dream come true.”

The store has so much to offer including homemade chocolates infused with essential oils made at the store, aromatherapy jewelry, organic soap, lotion bars and lotion candles, Ferngully Galleries one of a kind handmade jewelry, Donna’s homemade jams/jellies, salt lamps, Mingles Back to Natures products, Snow Child clothing, So Hum organic coffee, Oola Teas, Salvatores Salsa’s, Snowflakes candies, handmade cards, Hoots fur products, Chick a Bee Farms Honey, Ulinger’s Maple Products and Essential Oils. Ehmke also offers DIY make ‘n’ take events with essential oils.
When asked what makes Essentially Well Oiled stand out from other businesses, she said, “I’m unique! I love people. Plus, there are the chocolates.” Each of the chocolates produced at the store is infused with a variety of different essential oils. She said she recently added “hot chili chocolates, dark chocolate, almond, cranberries and a hint of sea salt, infused with vitality orange essential oil.”

Ehmke explains that in the future she plans on “having more make ‘n’ takes and to meet more and more wonderful people!” Ehmke wants to shout out her children for the support they have given her and her husband Fritz for being a driving force behind her.
“He always tells me to ‘strike while the fire is hot,’” she said.
