The public is invited to join local researchers for an evening of debunking myths, exposing truths and telling interesting stories about the Civil War.

Tom Place, curator at Echoes Through Time Civil War Learning Center, and Jolene Hawkins, a research assistant at the Lucy Bensley Center, will host “Legends, Lies, Truths and Myths of the Civil War” on Wednesday, April 24 at 7 p.m.

The pair will present lesser-known Civil War stories, examine some of the misconceptions about the war and more during this event, part of the ongoing Civil War learning series hosted by the Western New York Civil War Society on the last Wednesdays of each month.

The Lucy Bensley Center is located at 23 North Buffalo St., Springville. Donations will be accepted for American Battlefield Trust. Light refreshments will be served.

The presentation will take place three days before Echoes Through Time hosts a brainstorming meeting on Saturday, April 27 at 2 p.m. at the Lucy Bensley Center to develop a fundraiser for the local Civil War museum. The meeting is open to the public to present ideas.
