Payton Rowe broke a pair of school records in finishing second and third in the Houghton College Invitational for the Springville-Griffith Institute indoor track and field team on Saturday.

Rowe was second in the 55 hurdles at 9.07, breaking her own previous school record (9.23). Then she added a school-record time in the 600-meter run at 1:42.81, good for third in the meet and qualifying for sectionals.

Evelyn Smith (:46.10) had a personal record in the 300. Also for the Springville girls, Emily Schlemmer finished the 55 hurdles in 12.47 and had a personal best 47.09 in the 300. Sydney Wittmer (8.21) and Jaime Dickinson (8.43) both had personal bests in the 55-meter run, with Dickinson also clocking a season-best 1:50.66 in the 600.

For the SGI boys, Topher Elkins finished second in the 300 (37.52) and was 24th in the 55 (7.16). Brett Russell took 10th (10:50) in the 3,200 and Andrew Delasandro was 15th in the 55 hurdles (9.55).

Personal bests included Tim Blesy (1,000, 3:31.31) and Jared Hecht (1,600, 4:52.40) and Casey Waterman had a season-best time in the 1,000. Waterman finished the 3,200 in 12:35 and Blesy the 55 in 8.52.
