There are many special programs and events scheduled this October at The Concord Public Library. All library programs are free and open to the public. Sign up may be required.

Every Tuesday, you can drop by the library for Computer Help from 4-5:30 p.m. You can stop in at any time with questions about email, eBooks, using the internet and more!

Every Wednesday is a book club for kids from 4:30-5:30 p.m. The library’s new weekly read-aloud book club for ages 6-12. No pre-reading is required.

Every Thursday from 10:30-11:15 a.m., join the library for songs, stories and more. Recommended for ages 2-5 years old, but all are welcome to attend.

Some other programs include SPCA Paws for Love – Read to a Dog and Teen Game Lab. In SPCA Paws for Love – Read to a Dog, from 3:30-4:30 p.m., come and read aloud to Gracie, an SPCA therapy dog! This program is recommended for ages 4 and up.

You can drop by from 4-6 p.m. for Teen Game Lab. Play some board games from their collection or bring your own!

Need an introduction to the basic functions of Microsoft Excel? Join the library for a computer class on Microsoft Excel on Oct. 21 from 5-7 p.m. You’ll use a spreadsheet format to create a very simple budget. Requires basic mouse and typing skills. Registration is required.

On Oct. 19 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., certified Reiki Master reacher Angela Steward will give an introduction to Reiki, a healing technique that aids the body in releasing stress by creating deep relaxation. For this program, you must bring a pillow and blanket. For those who are not able to lay on the floor, you can remain in your seat. Registration is required.

Some other special programs include Family Game Night on Oct. 28 from 6-7 p.m., Last Tuesday Book Club on Oct. 29 at 1:30 p.m., Halloween Celebration on Oct. 26 from 10-12:30 p.m., Dad & Me Storytime on Oct. 26 at 11 a.m., Social Services Assistance on Oct. 23 and 30 from noon to 7 p.m. Simplify Your Life Series with Tina Ames are Saturdays in October. The next session is Oct. 19 with Money Money and Oct. 26 with Whats Next?

You can contact the Concord Library at 592-7742 to register. Library hours are Monday and Wednesday, noon to 7 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and closed Friday and Sunday.
