On Saturday, Aug. 12, join friends old and new at the first annual BBQ Fest & Softball Tournament to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Springville. The Community Park will play host to this event, which will feature food and fun!

“Due to the lack of snowfall for our 13th Annual Snowshoe Softball Tournament this past winter, the Boys & Girls Club needed to find an alternative fundraiser,” said Andy Bobseine, director of the Boys & Girls Club of Springville. “ The BBQ event was added to bring more spectators to the softball tournament.”

Local WNY BBQ vendors Jake and the Fatman, Rebel Yell BBQ and Babz BBQ will be selling their award-winning items from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The $10 ticket gives you 10 individual tickets to purchase a BBQ sandwich, brisket or multiple side items from the three vendors.  In addition, individual tickets will be on sale at the gate during the day of the event.

Registration for the Softball Tournament begins at 9 a.m. and first pitch is slated for 10 a.m.

Currently, seven teams have signed up for the tournament, representing Emerling Dealerships, Julie’s Pizzeria & Restaurant, CHBWV – Decommissioning Team, Certified Radon Systems, Bertrand Chaffee Hospital, B&B Homes and Cobham LLC.

“Proceeds of the BBQ Fest & Softball Tournament will go towards our operating budget and program supplies for the fall,” Bobseine noted.
