Get out of the house and come join in the fun as Allegany State Park continues its series of hikes called “3rd Saturday Treks.” As the name implies, these free, family-friendly hikes will take place on the 3rd Saturday of each month from April through October. The treks will be led by park staff and summer interns.

This month’s trek takes place Aug. 19 on the new wetland boardwalk.  Hike along with the park’s Regional Biologist as he points out the many interesting things that can be found in wetlands. This easy hike will be accessible to those with limited mobility and will last approximately two hours. Participants are asked to meet at the new wetland boardwalk parking area at 10 a.m. and to come dressed for the weather. Registration is not required.
