We’re almost there. Just a little ways to go and we can put winter behind us. One of the best ways to spend one of these remaining chilly evenings is to come warm yourself by fireside at Allegany State Park while listening to some great music! This month’s “By the Fireside” performance is the final one of the season, and features local musician Will Lowry.

Lowry has performed in a variety of settings, everywhere from local coffeehouses to large music festivals. He recently released his fifth album of original music in November of 2016, entitled, Colours & Lines.

With a background in folk, blues, and classical guitar, Lowry is known for his unusual skill as a guitarist as well as his vocal style. His guitar sets the background for his singing of well-known songs and original compositions. Each song has a story and, along with the music, the audience is likely to hear some interesting background as Lowry shares his songs. His rendition of cover songs is often accompanied by an unusual bit of guitar work, or the addition of a harmonica. Often he will include a few of his original songs in the evening.

“By the Fireside” takes place on Saturday, March 18 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Red House Administration Building lobby. We look forward to seeing you as our “Music by the Fireside” series concludes for this season.
