Soul 2 Sole dance studio will hold a grand opening celebration at its new Springville location at 243 West Main St. on Wednesday, Aug. 15 from 5 to 8 p.m.

The public and prospective dancers and their parents are welcome to come meet the staff, experience a trial class, register for classes and be fitted for dance shoes on site by Bailey’s Slipper Shop.

Tanya Siddle, director of Soul to Sole, opened her first location in Arcade in September 2011 with the mission to teach and inspire students to dance from their “souls to soles.” Tanya decided to open up her second location in Springville after hearing interest from multiple people in the area.

“Some of our students who attend classes at the Arcade studio come from Springville, which started me thinking about a possible second location,” said Siddle. “There are so many options to the north of our area, I’m excited to expand our outreach in the Southern Tier.”

Siddle started dancing at an early age and once she caught the bug she said dancing “consumed my life, it was everything I wanted to do.” Her ability to incorporate her degree in Early Childhood Education alongside her true love of dance has opened up a world of opportunity for others to share in this passion.

“Having a background in Early Childhood Education allows me to mold classroom and behavior management techniques into our dance classes,” she said.

Siddle just recently completed a 16-part national accreditation examination with Dance Masters of America, which she started back in 2015 to further her dance education and training.

This past year, the studio partnered with CLI Studios which provides another resource for continuing dance education for herself and all her staff.

“With this partnership our students are able to participate in livestream classes from all over the country,” said Siddle. “Classes with instructions from ‘So You Think You Can Dance,’ imagine taking a hip-hop class with tWitch.”

A tentative schedule of classes coming up for fall for both the Arcade and Springville locations, which include instruction for kids ranging from ages 2-18, include Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Hip-hop, Acro and Irish Dance. The new location in Springville is right next door to their partner, Early Bird Childcare Centers, and the studio plans on adding Mommy & Me Toddler Classes and Homeschool Group Classes in the future.

Registration for all classes is available online or in person. The studio will also be holding trial classes on the last Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in August for prospective dance students to have the chance to see what a class is all about before registering.
