Kick off the start of the new season at the Root 39 2017 Barn Fest taking place at Root 39’s Event Center located at 500 South Cascade Drive in Springville on Sunday, Sept. 10 from noon to 5 p.m. Root 39 Salon and Spa is looking forward to hosting this exciting event at their event center where parking is free and the fun is plentiful!

At first glance, the large, beautiful building appears to be a barn—certainly not an unusual sight in Western New York! Look a little closer, and you’ll see that it’s so much more than that. Since 1997, Root 39 Salon and Spa, owned by Angela Shaver, has been offering top-notch customer service and on-trend services including hair care, manicures, pedicures, skin care, spray tanning, makeup application and more in this beautiful location, which they moved into last year (from their original location on Route 39).

Not only is the unique space large enough to accommodate the salon’s many services and professional stylists, but it’s also a popular event center available for area events including bridal and baby showers, reunions, parties and more. Of course, it’s the perfect location for Barn Fest, which was created by Root 39 Salon last year and is again focused on “bringing community, friends, artists, and crafters together.”

Like last year, there will be several different arts and crafts vendors who will be offering traditional handcrafts, and beautiful one-of-a-kind items such as artwork and pottery.  Become a work of art, yourself, at the face painting station.

It’s definitely a good idea to bring your appetite, as Barn Fest features traditional comfort food like chili, sliders, pasta salad, cheesy potatoes, taco in a bag, cupcakes, and mini pies. There will also be wine and beer for attendees ages 21 and older to enjoy.  Another exciting part of Barn Fest is the grand opening and ribbon cutting of Cindy Lou’s Frozen Yogurt, which is located in the same building as Root 39.

Throughout the day, there will be several activities for people of all ages to take part in! Live music will be provided by area band BTS, and LJ Grand Livery Stables, located at 359 West Main Street in Springville, will be providing wagon rides throughout the afternoon with their beautiful Percheron team. Attendees will be putting their culinary skills to the test by taking part in Barn Fest’s Apple Dessert Contest, where they’ll be competing with their favorite fall desserts that feature New York’s state fruit! In the spirit of fall, Barn Fest will be featuring a scarecrow decorating contest, too!

Barn Fest is free to attend and parking, including handicap accessible parking, is also free. Christine Reese, Event Coordinator at Root 39, is excited about this fun family-friendly event, which will be held rain or shine this Sunday. To learn more, contact Christine at (716)592-4227.
