IROQUOIS — The Springville-Griffith Institute boys basketball team earned its first win of the season in the Iroquois Tournament consolation game Saturday, defeating Alden 52-26.
Mason Goodridge paced the Griffins (1-1) with 21 points, seven rebounds, seven steals and two blocks. Austin Boies added 19 points and seven boards.
SGI held Alden without a double-digit scorer, led by Maxwell Gilbert’s eight points.
Next up, the Griffins are set to play Friday night, at Lackawanna, and play Starpoint on Monday in the SGI home opener.
