TONAWANDA — The Springville-Griffith Institute boys soccer team improved to 2-0 with a shutout of Tonawanda on Tuesday.
The Griffins blanked the Warriors, 2-0. SGI has two home games coming up, playing host to Lake Shore on Thursday and Lackawanna on Monday.

Springville/West Valley 4, Ellicottville 0
SPRINGVILLE — Chris Smith netted two of Springville/West Valley’s three first-half goals in a season-opening matchup for both teams Thursday, Aug. 29.
Zach Hughey and Will Guiman also scored for the winners.

YORKSHIRE — Hannah Goetz scored the team’s lone goal, but Springville dropped its season opener on Tuesday.
Logan Lukert made four saves in goal for SGI (0-1).
