The SGI varsity softball team have been fighting the weather and injuries this softball season. “I have had to pull up from our JV team to help support us at four different times,” said coach Kim Pazzuti. “Katelyn Mesch was brought up and asked to stay on varsity to play at our catcher position and did a great job until she got and injury that has sidelined her for the last week.”

Pazzuti said the team is still looking for their first league win and hope to grab a couple before we finish up the season.

“We have moved positions around and that has seemed to tighten up our outfield,” she explained. “Currently, Meadow Wittman, and Sydney Rosati have made the move to the outfield to help cover the gaps that other teams are finding. Sarah Kester and Kait Wolf have fought through their injury to give us solid innings on the mound. Ryan Stedman has remained at 2nd fighting to stop everything, Meghan Rehauer has moved to short, and Olivia Fisher is back behind the plate and has done a fanatic job. Coach Stedman and I are proud to be a part of this team!”
