Over the last several years the Trading Post Community Care Center has seen a rise the number of families, especially seniors and working families needing help with food, clothing, housing, and other basic needs. They consistently serve over 5,000 hot meals per year and logging in more than 1,000 volunteer hours to accomplish this work.  In our rural area, many seniors and those who are disabled struggle with fixed incomes and many families are trying to live on low wage incomes. Due to these factors, we have seen the need to continue our outreach and are seeking more caring volunteers to reach out through our Community “Soup” Kitchen.

The Trading Post offers a “free hot meal” to the public every Wednesday at noon and it is open to anyone. The goal and mission of the Community Kitchen and Food Pantry is to reach out by “Showing God’s love by sharing a meal with our neighbors and offering a hand of friendship.”

The next fundraising effort for this worthy cause is the “SOUP”er BOWL event, which will be held Saturday, Feb. 3 from 4-8 p.m. at the Springville Country Club. Tickets are $12 per/person (pre-sale) or $15 at the door and includes bottomless bowls of soup, appetizers, and desserts. There will also be a cash bar.

There will also be music, theme basket raffles and a 50/50.

Everyone is welcome to attend, and they are looking more people interested to get involved! You can make a Crockpot of your favorite soup/ chili, an appetizer, donate a gift or theme basket, or volunteer to help in the kitchen!

Call today to get involved! (716)628-3955 or (716) 440-8703.
